I've cracked the glass display on my 2013 27" iMac. I'd like to try and replace the screen myself to save money, using the steps you've provided. Are you aware of any place that sells the actual display? I realize the glass & display are laminated together, does this make it a more difficult part to purchase? You're help is greatly appreciated.

Ouch! You are a brave sole.
Unlike the older iMac's taking off the display is not easy and when you have a cracked one it makes the job doubly hard.

Call Apple and ask what a "flat rate repair" would cost.

Dan, a "flat rate repair includes the parts", since this unit is still under warranty, a Apple Depot repair gets you Apple discounted price on the screen, keeps it under warranty, and, if they find any other issues non-related to the screen crack, those would be fixed for free. This service is not available via an Authorized Service Provider but generally only directly from Apple. Although since shipping costs are high they might have the local ASP do it and Apple pays them. Here's where to get worldwide support: http://support.apple.com/kb/he57
Apple is not interested in making money on the repair as an ASP would be. Apple wants to keep you as a customer.
I didn't write my comet to well (sorry). I was subtracting the cost of the display in my head to get the cost of the labor Apple was charging for flat rate. I was also assuming he would be able to get to an Apple Store Vs shipping it to Apple (I guess I'm spoiled a bit having a few AppleStores nearby) others may not be so lucky.
