I have an asus tf300t that I've got all taken apart ready to replace the digitizer but I'm not sure if I have to have the EXACT same one for the system to work. I can't afford a new one or to just take a chance and buy one to not have it work. The digitizer is 5158N FPC-1

DeAnne, I am not sure if I follow you. You can not just get a random digitizer and hope it will work, so yes you do need one for your tablet. If your digitizer is a 5158N FPC-1, then that is what you need. Hope this helps, good luck.
