The LCD image screen on my Canon A620 has quit working. I am unable to set the functions or use the menu. Is there a fix for this? I had the screen disassembled and there appeared to be a small battery on the PCB however I can not find any information on this at all!

Connie Eisenhour, the battery is a 3V lithium-ion battery, Canon part number WK1-5132-000 (MS614FS micro battery). It is your CMOS battery and should not be related to your LCD. Check the fuses on your board for continuity, I believe that one of them is your backlight fuse. If both show continuity, I would suggest that you replace the LCD for any further trouble shooting. Thank you so much for the info. It's too late tonight so I will attempt a continuity reading in the AM and pop the battery as well to check the voltage. Again thanks for the info. I'll keep you posted on my findings. Would love a new camera but funds won't allow at this time! This camera is worth saving!
I totally agree with you. Keep things fixed and keep it around as long as possible. Let us know how it is going....

Is it just your screen that is not working? Does the camera still come one? Explain this " screen disassembled and there appeared to be a small battery on the PCB" a bit further. What do you mean by having the screen disassembled?

The camera still takes good quality pictures. It's just the LCD display that is not working. Screen is black which renders the functions and menus useless. Yes, I disassembled the display on the camera. The connector was seated properly; and yes there is a small battery on the display PCB. I am an electronics engineering technician so I do know what I'm looking at and how to work with electronics. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. And, of course, is there a fix for it. Could there possibly be a problem with the mother board in the camera itself? BTW camera batteries are fine!
