Can memory on board (16GB) be removed and accessed?

Hello,

can memory on board (16GB) be removed and accessed if one dismantles a Razr Maxx?

Can the 16GB SanDisk NAND flash chip (SDIN5C1-16G) be removed and plugged into some sort of reader?

Thanks!

Or you can go all out and build your own, by following this link. So, is it possible, absolutely, but it will require plenty of resources...:-)Hope this helps, good luck.

Thanks old turkey! Plenty of resources indeed. Software appears to be of great value here. Thank you for the info, much appreciated. Quite astonishing how this embedded NAND is so difficult to read post mortem. I wonder if the engineering is intentional so when a dead phone is found it is not accessed with ease? Essentially if i read correctly it is a flash chip in essence without the built in (firmware?) consumer chips employ? Fascinating puzzle.
