It may just be a loose video cable.  My kid’s Chromebook goes black twice  a year.  I remove the two screws holding the bezel around the screen, remove the  bezel, and carefully tilt the lcd forward.  I then just push the cable in better and try to tape it in place.  Takes about two minutes.
