Why does this Netbook have two wireless cards?

I can't help but notice that there are two guides for replacing the wireless card in an Acer Aspire One ZG5. For the [guide|3693|External Card] and one for the [guide|3778|Internal Card].

I haven't cracked mine open yet (it's currently in a box waiting for us to move house), am I to assume it'll have one or the other or both?
