It sounds like there could be either a main board to T-Con cable problem or a T-Con board problem (maybe a main board problem). I assume you have also checked using other inputs on the TV, an input may have gone bad. . Given the bright screen your backlights appear to be fine. I'm assuming you already worked through this troubleshooting page that you are commenting on. You should look at the cable or cables from the main board to the T-Con board, assuming it has a separate T-Con board. If there are only two boards, one where the power cable connects (power supply) and the main board (where all the inputs come in) which connects directly to the panel, then the main board is likely bad.
The first option worked for me. I unplugged from the wall, waited about a minute. Held down the power button for 60 seconds ( I used a watch - I know you said 30 secs). The TV was reset. When I turned it back on, it was as if I turned it on for the first time. I skipped many of the initial set up questions. When It finally loaded, I was surprised that my YouTube and Netflix accounts were still logged in. It was both good and bad.
Good because I didn't have to type anything in. Bad because I forgot it was a soft reset. I was expecting everything to be wiped.
I’m looking at a Sony KDL-59W800C; the entire screen is black, except for the bottom right corner where a quarter sized circle of pixels remain…the sound is present. Is it the T-Board or another problem? Todd-
Almost certainly not a T-Con board. It sounds like a either a backlight problem (one LED working for some reason, assuming it uses discrete backlights) or a mainboard problem. There are checks you can run shown on this page. Likely not a panel problem either. You can use the flashlight test to see if there is an image in other areas.
