Phone won't turn on
Battery not charged
Recharge or replace the battery.
Plugged in but phone not charging
If the battery has not been used for a long time or is completely drained, it may take up to half an hour for the battery icon to appear on the screen.
Menu is in a language I don't understand
Menu language
You can change the menu language to automatic on your SIM card by pressing ← 8888 → in standby. You can also change it to English by pressing ← 0000 → in standby.
Error Messages
Insert SIM
There is no SIM card in the phone. You must insert a SIM card.
PUK Blocked - Contact Operator
If you entered your personal unblocking code (PUK) incorrectly 10 times in a row then you must contact your service provider.
Phone Locked
Your phone is locked. You must unlock it with the 4- or 8-digit code. The default code is "0000".
Charging Alien Battery
The battery you are using is not an Ericsson-approved battery and is charging slowly for safety reasons.
Screen contains dead pixels or is black
Bad LCD screen
This mostly likely indicates a damaged LCD screen. See our screen repair guide for removal of the screen.
Bad logic board
A damaged or faulty logic board: see our logic board repair guide for removal of the logic board and check board for signs of damage.
No Sound
Audio Settings
Be sure that your volume is up and that the phone is not on mute or vibrate.
Bad Speaker
Your speaker might be damaged or disconnected. See our speaker repair guide for removal.
Vibrate alert not working
Bad motor
