This troubleshooting page will help you diagnose problems with the Razer Blade Stealth 2016 Blade Stealth 2016.
Weak Wireless Connection
The device’s wireless network is being either slow or disconnecting, or the internet is loading slowly or not at all.
Incorrect Settings
Set power savings options to high performance. Set “power plan” and “Intel HD graphics” to high performance by going into your option menu, clicking on “graphics Properties,” and then clicking on “HD Intel Graphics Control Panel.” From there, click on “power” and then choose “on battery” from the menu on the left. Disable the power saving technology and click “apply.” Additionally, to increase wireless speed, lower display resolution to 1080. You can do this by going to the intel control panel, clicking on “graphics properties,” and then “display tab.” In the scaling section you can lower your display resolution. Run speed check using an online speedtest.
Outdated Wireless Card Driver
Update the wireless card driver in “device” settings by downloading the 64-bit Killer Wireless Drivers that are easily accessible and available online. Click the start button, then device manager, and open network adapters. Right click “Killer Wireless Adapter” and click “update driver.” Click “browse” and select the 64-bit driver. Run speed check using an online speedtest.
Faulty Killer Network Manager
Disable the Killer Network Manager. Do this by going to start button, then device manager, then network adapters. Click on “killer wireless” and “disable device”. If that doesn't work, use a killer wireless suite. Avoid the killer suite that is available on their website, it commonly causes problems. Get suite from Razer Blade Stealth 2016 Support separately. If you've tried the different killer suites with no success, try including the beta drives. If beta drives don't work, use the suite-less drivers. Run speed check using an online speedtest.
Broken/Defective Antenna
Carefully pop off the antenna connections. Do this by detaching all cables that go to the screen. Unscrew the hinges, slide the screen off, slip off the plastic coverings, and now you can see where the antennas are. Carefully remove the connections. Connect Intel NUC antennas, power on the machine, and run a speedtest again.
Distorted or No Audio
Audio is fuzzy or crackling during audio playback.
Mute Audio
Go to the settings to ensure that the sound is on and is not mute.
Audio Enhancers Interference
Disable audio enhancers. Some audio enhancers are not compatible with some Razer Blade Stealth 2016 devices causing the sound to be muffled or distorted. To disable the enhancers, go to Start -> Sound -> select Sound Control Panel. Click the playback tab -> right click the current Default Device -> select Properties. Click the Enhancements tab -> select Disable all enhancements check box.
Sound Driver Is Out of Date
Your audio driver from Razer Blade Stealth 2016 is out-of-date. Go to Razer Blade Stealth 2016’s website to find the newest, up-to-date audio drivers. The up-to-date version may fix any bugs that may have been interfering with the sound.
Realtek Audio Driver Isn’t Downloaded
Download Realtek audio device. There could be a communication error between the computer and the current audio driver. Downloading a Realtek driver could increase the audio quality for your device. On the Razer website, they offer a Realtek audio download.
Screen is Frozen
The screen becomes unresponsive during use of the device.
Requires a Hard Restart
If your screen in frozen, perform a “hard restart” on your device. To do this, remove the battery from the device, wait 5-10 seconds, then place it back in its correct slot. Afterwards, start up your device again to see if the issue has been resolved.
Overheating
Go to the windows key and type power options. When you’re here, be sure to check to see if your device is in “high performance” mode. While this mode is useful when gaming, turning it off can help not overheat the device.
Screen is Flickering/Glitching
The screen’s images it displays flicker briefly or the screen has moments where vertical lines appear and then disappear at random.
Outdated Software
When purchasing a brand new device, there could still be some issues with the software and graphics drivers not being the most current and up to date. You can do this by simply checking if an update is available for your Razer Blade Stealth 2016, or by going to Intel’s website and downloading the most recent graphic drivers available.
Incorrect Resolution
Lower your resolution of the Razer Blade Stealth 2016 to 1080p. This will allow to still have a clear, smooth picture but not overload your Razer Blade Stealth 2016’s ability to refresh the image to a higher quality one that could have the potential to slow down it’s performance.
Faulty Apps
If the flickering only appear when you open a specific app on your Razer Blade Stealth 2016 then it may just be that app that’s specifically causing the issue. If so, simply delete the app and see if that restores the image quality.
Requires Reset and Restore
Finally, a complete system restore may be the issue. Sometimes certain updates or changes to your Razer Blade Stealth 2016 can cause issues that can only be fixed by restoring your device back to its initial condition in which you purchased it in. To do this, go to your devices general settings. Scroll through until you find a section that says factory reset, system restore, etc. Click on that option and follow the steps proceeding as your Razer Blade Stealth resets its settings.
Failing To Charge
The Razer Blade Stealth 2016 is failing to charge when the charger is plugged in and the green LED light is lit.
Obstructed Charging Port
Remove the charger from the Razer Blade Stealth 2016 device. Pick up the device and blow into the charging port, blowing away any dirt or dust that may be residing in the port. This can happen quite frequently and simply needs to be removed to charge.
Another way to remove any debris from the charging port is take a Q-tip and gently brush the surface of the port. Proceed to use pressurized air to remove any remaining debris. (Stated above).
Faulty Charger
Remove the charger from the Razer Blade Stealth 2016 device and unplug the AC adapter from the wall. Wait thirty seconds to one minute before plugging both adapters back in. If the same result occurs call Razer Blade Stealth 2016 support for additional help.
Failure To Turn On
The device is failing to turn on when pressing the power button.
Faulty AC Adaptor
Remove the charger from the port and remove the AC adapter from the wall. Wait about one minute before plugging both back in. Once plugged back in press the power button.
Low Battery Power
Plug in the charger and wait a few minutes for the battery to charge. Secure power adaptor. Turn on after charging adapter is plugged in.
Faulty USB Externals
Remove any USB externals from the Razer Blade Stealth 2016 device. Plugged in USB ports can interfere with the Razer Blade Stealth 2016’s ability to turn on. USB externals can include a USB drive, USB keyboard, or USB mouse.
