No matter what you do, you cannot get your camera to turn on.
Hold power switch on.
Before tearing your camera apart, read on...
Make sure the battery is in the device correctly! The squares on the bottom of the battery should line with those in the battery compartment on the bottom of the camera.
Remove battery (Kodak 3.7V Rechargeable Digital Camera Battery) and make sure it is fully charged. If the device is dead, the screen will flash a warning.
Replace battery if it does not hold charge. We sell the necessary replacement parts!
Still no luck?
It is possible the device has a faulty display or may have a dead motherboard. Fear not! Replacement is easier than you think.
Photos will not show or save.
Make sure memory card is in device correctly. Do not force the memory card into the device, it should slide and lock into place easily.
Make sure memory card is not full. The device should tell you when storage is full when trying to take a picture or video.
Delete/Transfer pictures on the device itself or with the use of a computer and sync cord.
Memory card didn’t help?
The device’s memory card or motherboard may be dead. Fear not! Replacement is a snap!
Buttons are sticky or do not respond.
Clean areas on device around buttons. Do not use a soaking towel, just a damp towel with light cleaner, and be careful not to let liquid inside of device!
No luck? There’s another option!
Replace buttons. Carefully remove the panel of the device where the button resides and replace button. We sell replacement parts!
Photographs appear blurry or unfocused.
Make sure to press the focus button firmly. It is the large square button on the top right of the camera. You do not have the press the button all the way down, focus occurs after pushing the button down halfway. A beep should be heard when the camera focuses.
Make sure the camera is in an appropriate setting. In any of the automatic settings, the camera should auto-focus.
Clean lens gently with soft, damp towelette. Any rough materials can scratch the lens. Make sure not to allow liquid inside of the device.
Time to dig into your camera!
Carefully remove panel with appropriate tools. Remove front panel and replace lens. See repair guide for instructions.
Lens will not focus or zoom.
Press focus button firmly. It is the large square button on the top right of the camera.
Clean device around lens with soft, damp material. Any rough materials may cause scratches.
Gather up your tools!
The shutter may be stuck. Carefully remove panel with appropriate tools. Remove front panel and replace lens or shutters. See repair guide for instructions.
