The computer will not turn on when the power button is pressed.

Ensure that the power adapter has all connections fully seated, from the wall outlet to the computer's charging port. Check for a charging light on the computer and the adapter itself. If there is no light, replace the charger.

Connect the power adapter and press the power button. If the computer runs with the power adapter plugged in, but shuts off when the charger is unplugged, replace the battery.

The computer will not boot or wake up from sleep mode.

There may be an external device interfering with the computer's normal boot sequence. Unplug any USB drives and remove any SD cards from the computer's ports, then try again.

Plug an external monitor into the computer's HDMI port. If the external monitor displays correctly, your built-in display may need to be replaced.

The computer's RAM may be overheated or over capacity. Reboot the computer; if problems persist, remove and reinstall the RAM modules to ensure they are seated correctly in their motherboard ports.

If the above steps don’t resolve the issue, you may need to reinstall Windows. You can attempt a repair install using your Windows media, or a clean install if you have your important data and applications backed up. Contact your computer manufacturer for installation media and instructions if needed.

The touch screen is not responding to touch and swipe commands.

Unplug the power adapter from the computer, then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds. Reboot the computer and test the touch screen again.

Open the Windows Device Manager, expand the Human Interface Devices (HIDs) node, and double-click on the last USB device listed. Open the Power Management tab and uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option, then click OK and reboot the computer.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, the touch screen may need to be replaced.

The computer experiences a weak WiFi connection or disconnects from the WiFi network.

The computer’s WiFi device driver may be out of date, or a third-party driver may be interfering with the factory driver. Reinstall the Lenovo WiFi & Bluetooth Wireless Networking driver. The manufacturer recommends using version v1.04.0213 or higher.

Windows may be limiting power to your WiFi network adapter. Open the Windows Device Manager, right-click on the wireless network adapter and select Properties, then go to the Power tab and uncheck the “Allow Windows to manage power to this device” option, then click OK.

WiFi networks can operate on one of 11 channels; your network may be operating on the same channel as other nearby networks, causing interference. You can change which channel your router uses in the wireless network settings on your router; check your router's manual or manufacturer's website for instructions specific to your model. Channels 1, 6, 7, or 11 may be the strongest.

The computer unexpectedly shuts down with a blue error message screen.

Your computer's device drivers may be out of date or misconfigured. Download and install the latest drivers for every device the computer has.

Your Windows installation may not be up to date. Run Windows Update and ensure all updates download and install without failing.

Blue screen errors can be caused by problems with your file system. You can run the Windows System File Checker to replace and repair missing or corrupted system files.

Your RAM modules may be malfunctioning or damaged; you can test them with a utility like the Windows Memory Diagnostic and, if necessary, replace them.

If the above steps don’t resolve the issue, you may need to reinstall Windows.
