Ematic Genesis Troubleshooting
This device was released in May of 2012 and is identified by the model number EGL26BL.
- Device will not turn on.
- Sound will not work.
- Touchscreen will not work.
- Device will not charge.
- Buttons will not work.
- Front camera will not work.
The device is not responding to the power button being pressed.
The device will not turn on. This may be caused by the battery running out of energy due to previous use. Charge the battery in order to see if the issue is solved.
If the device did not charge, the battery may no longer function and need to be replaced.
If all other attempts fail, the device's motherboard may have to be replaced.
No sound is coming from the device with or without the use of earphones.
If you are unable to hear any sound when using the auxiliary jack- such as when using earphones, try to disconnect and then re-establish connection to solve problem. The earphones may need to replaced if no sound is heard after connection is re-established. Try a new set of earphones in order to decide if the issue is caused by broken earphones or by a broken speaker.
Make sure volume is turned all the way up. If the problem is not fixed after adjusting volume level, then the speaker may need to be replaced.
Touchscreen either is not responding to any touch sensations or the touchscreen is damaged.
Restart the device in attempt to solve the problem. The touchscreen may not be functioning and need to be replaced.
Touchscreen is cracked or damaged and needs to be replaced.
The device is connected to the charger and will not charge.
Battery may be out of energy due to previous use and needs to be recharged.
Ensure that the correct charger is being used.
If the charger does not work in multiple outlets, a new charger may need to be purchased.
The buttons stick after being pressed or a button is missing.
Sticky buttons should be cleaned by disassembling the device.
A new button may have to be replaced.
Front camera will not work properly when the app opens or the camera has been damaged.
You may need to close and restart the app for this issue to be resolved.
The camera may not be functioning properly and will need to be replaced in order for the issue to be fixed.
