Tablet Will Not Power On
Tablet does show any response when powered on
Dead Battery
If your Dell Latitude ST is not powering on, first test your battery. Pull the power button back, if the light does not display as green your battery is dead. Plug your device into the charger. Let the battery charge for approximately one hour and try the power button again.
Faulty Power Cord
If your Dell Latitude ST tablet still is not turning on and your battery has not charged you may have a faulty power cord. Check the cable for any exposed wires. If wires are visible cover with electrical tape. Make sure that your cord is not plugged into any power source before adding any tape. After this is completed plug in your tablet to charge again. If the problem still occurs you will need to replace your charger.
Faulty Battery
If your Dell Latitude ST is still not powering on try plugging your Dell latitude ST charger into a different device with the matching port. If the other device charges, your tablet’s battery is most likely the problem. This requires a replacement battery. Please refer to the Dell Latitude ST Replacement Guide.
Screen Displaying as Black
Tablet is powered on but screen is displayed as black and not responding
Software's Operating System is Nor Responding
If your tablet is powered on but your screen is displaying as black, try rebooting your system by pulling back the power button until the green light fades. Wait about 30 seconds and pull the power button back until a green light reappears. If the problem still occurs a screen replacement may be required.
Faulty Screen
If your tablet screen is still not powering on, test your screen by powering on the tablet. Pull the power button back and hold it until the green light appears. If the light is on but the screen is still black then you may want to consider replacing the screen. To replace the screen please refer to the Dell latitude ST Replacement Guide.
Device Not Connecting to Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi constantly disconnecting from the tablet
Software's Operating System is Not Responding
If your tablet is not connecting to Wi-Fi try rebooting the device. Hold the power button back until the green light fades. Once the device is powered off, wait 30 seconds and hold the power button back again until the light returns to green.
Router Not Responding
If your Wi-Fi is still not connecting, there may be a problem with your operating system. If you are using your home Wi-Fi network try rebooting your router. Unplug your router from the power source. Wait 60 seconds and plug the device back in.
Tablet's Network Settings Configured Wrong
If your tablet is still losing Wi-Fi connection you will need to reset your network settings. Open your tablet's system setting and disable the client load balancing under WLAN SSID advanced tab. This should allow your tablet to stay connected to the Wi-Fi.
Sound Not Coming from Speaker
Having trouble hearing sounds come from your tablet’s speakers
Sound Settings Wrong
If you are not able to hear any sound from your tablet’s speaker check your sound settings; make sure that your volume is not set to mute or that your speakers are disabled. Also check that the sound on the application you are using to make sure it is not muted.
Dirty Tablet Speakers
If your sound is turned up but you still cannot hear any sound coming from your speaker they might be blocked by dust/dirt. Obtain a cotton swab and toothpick. Lightly wet the cotton swab and run it over the top three prongs. Then take the toothpick and scrape the inside of the holes out. Use the dry side of the cotton swab to remove any dust that falls out.
Faulty Driver
If you can still not hear sound coming from your speakers the next step is to check and update your drivers. Connect to the Dell Support web page and run a check to make sure that you have the correct driver for your audio. You can run the automatic check or you can find the drivers yourself on the “ find it myself” tab. There is a list of every driver you need for audio on your Dell latitude ST.
Faulty Speaker
If you can still not hear sound coming from your device and you have completed all of the steps above , this might indicate a problem with the components of your Dell Latitude ST speaker. The next step would be to replace the device’s speaker entirely. Please refer to the Dell Latitude ST Replacement Guide.
Camera Application Displaying as Black
When your tablet’s camera application is open all of the buttons display but the image from camera lense is black
Software's Operating System is Not Responding
If your camera display is black, try rebooting your system by holding the power button back until the green light fades. Wait 30 seconds and hold the power button back again until the green light reappears. If that camera display is still black then you will need to try a factory reset.
Tablet is Not Responding
If your camera application is still displaying as black then you need to factory reset your device. Insert your USB keyboard into the USB slot. As the system reboots press F8 on your keyboard, this will force a hard reset. If the problem still occurs then consider replacing the camera.
Faulty Camera
If the camera is still not showing an image, you may need to replace the device's camera. To replace your tablet's camera please refer to the Dell Latitude ST Camera replacement guide.
