Appliance Does Not Respond After Pressing Chop or Grind Buttons
The appliance has become unresponsive.
Check that the power-cord is plugged into a functioning power outlet
If the unit is plugged in and is still unresponsive, further maintenance may be required.
Power Cord needs to be replaced
Refer to the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus DLC-2A repair guide for instructions on how to replace the power cord.
Blade Has Stopped Spinning
The blade has stopped spinning, but the motor is working.
Too much food in the work bowl
If the blade has stopped spinning but noise can still be heard coming from the device, there may be excess food in the work bowl. Safely remove a portion of the food in the work bowl and attempt normal operation.
Plastic interior blade mechanism is broken
The blade for the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus DLC-2A may have broken during use. Refer to Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus DLC-2A replacement guide for blade replacement instructions.
Blade is Jammed
Make sure food is diced to proper size prior to use. Do not pack the chopper with food. It can become overwhelmed easily and strain the motor. Refer to the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus DLC-2A Series Instruction and Recipe Booklet which offers capacity guidelines based on the type of food being processed.
Chopper Has Stopped Suddenly Mid-Task
Chopper has stopped grinding/chopping mid-task and will not continue.
If the blade has stopped spinning and noise cannot be heard coming from the device, food may be preventing the blade from turning. Safely remove a portion of the food in the work bowl and attempt normal operation.
Device may have become unplugged
Make sure power cord is plugged into wall outlet.
Blades may have become stuck
Remove the work bowl cover, remove the SmartPower blade, and remove large chunks of food that are causing the blade to jam.
Motor may have overheated
Unplug the chopper and allow it to cool down.
Food Contents After Chopping or Grinding are Inconsistently Sized
After chopping or grinding, food contents are non-uniformly sized.
Ensure that food items to be used in the device have already been chopped to a uniform size and that the work bowl is not filled beyond capacity. This will help assure that food comes out more uniformly sized than not. Refer to the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus DLC-2A Series Instruction and Recipe Booklet which offers capacity guidelines for a variety of foods.
Exceeding the maximum capacity for the work bowl
Do not exceed the suggested maximum capacity of the work bowl. Doing so may cause excessive wear and tear on the unit and does not constitute normal intended use.
Didn't chop or grind contents long enough
If contents have not been processed thoroughly, continue using the regular or pulse options.
Buttons Will Not Click When Depressed
Buttons have lost tactile feedback.
If buttons have lost their tactile "click" feeling, and the motor does not engage when buttons are depressed, the interior button mechanism may be broken. Replacement of the interior mechanism may be attempted only if a replacement part can be found, likely from another unit.
Button mechanism has water damage
If buttons have become wet and water damage is suspected, unplug the device and follow the power cord replacement guide to access the button mechanism, and allow 24 hours for the unit to dry before re-attaching the base and attempting use again.
Button mechanism does not engage motor
If pressing the buttons does not engage the motor, there may be damage to the button mechanism or the motor. Replacement parts can be found, likely from another unit.

I've been using this successfully and suddenly today I can't get the base cylinder to lock in. Something blocks it. Have I forgotten how to re-assemble it? Or can I bring in someplace locally where they can help me?
