Unable to Play Videos ¶
Playing a video makes the screen go black
Video Resolution is too High ¶
Most likely the resolution is not compatible with the Creative Ziio tablet. The highest resolution that the tablet can play is 720p. Thus, try a video that has a lower resolution.
Touchscreen does not Respond ¶
Touching the navigation buttons and touchscreen does not work
Reset the Tablet ¶
Press the power button for ten seconds or until the screen goes black. Then, turn the device back on. This should alleviate the problem.
Device doesn't Charge ¶
The device won't turn on, and the device won't respond to being charged
There May be Something Lodged in the Jack ¶
First check if there is anything stuck in the 5V charging jack. Something may be blocking the electrical connection between your Ziio tablet and the charging cable plug.
Issue with the Cable ¶
If that does not work then check the charging cable itself. To do this you can try charging the tablet with another 5V cable. If the tablet charges with a different cable then you may need to replace your original charging cable.
Dead Battery ¶
If your tablet still does not charge then it is likely you have a dead battery. See our repair guide for how to replace the battery.
SD Cards are not Recognized ¶
The device will not respond when SD cards are inserted
Blockage in the Card Port ¶
Check if there is anything stuck in the SD card port. Something may be blocking the tablet from reading the card.
Non-Compatible Card ¶
Check to see if the card is compatible with the device. This should be specified on the instructions. If that is not the problem, check to make sure that there are actually files downloaded onto the card. The last resort is checking to see if other brands of microSD/SD cards can be read.
There is Water Damage ¶
If the device gets water logged, refrain from turning the device on, this could cause the circuits to short. The device needs time to dry out. Our recommendation is to use rice. Grab a decently sized bowl, pour in enough uncooked rice to be able to completely submerge the Ziio 7 device. Leave for at least twelve hours, and if it still does not work, leave in the rice and continue to check back periodically. It is possible that your Ziio 7 may be a casualty, and hopefully you purchased a warranty.
