Chromo Inc T2 Troubleshooting
Released September 2013.
No matter what you do, you can’t get your device to turn on
Before we go any further in troubleshooting the device, press and release your power button three times to ensure the button is not sticking and that you feel the click. If there is no click, your power button is faulty, therefore the motherboard needs to be replaced. If this is not your problem, try holding down the button for 10 seconds. If none of these initially solves your problem, read on.
If your tablet won’t turn on, check to make sure the battery isn’t dead after continuous use. Plug your tablet in through its corresponding cable to either a computer or AC adapter to see if anything happens. If it still does not turn on, your batter may no longer hold a charge and must be replaced with a new battery.
If you have already replaced the battery and the screen still does not turn on, your problem may be a faulty motherboard or your screen does not work. If your tablet turns on and gives a solid or distorted screen or remains black after replacing the battery, your screen will need to be replaced. If neither of these is the problem, then you may have a faulty motherboard that will need to be replaced.
Everything else seems to be working with your tablet except, the audio doesn’t play back properly.
To ensure your internal speaker is the problem, try plugging your tablet into other sound playback devices such as speakers or headphones. If sound is working properly through either, then your internal speaker is bad and needs to be replaced.
Toggle the volume button to make sure the device is turned all the way up. Make sure you feel a click as you press either the volume up or volume down button. If there is no click, then your logic board will need to be replaced. If this is not a suspected cause, try plugging in other audio playback devices such as speakers or headphones. If these work, then your internal speaker is faulty and needs to be replaced.
Everything else on your tablet works except for your camera
Try restarting your tablet by turning it on and off. If this does not work, try going into your settings and updating software that may have interfered with your camera. If neither of these work, your camera is faulty and needs to be replaced.
