As your Brother CS6000i is in operation, is the bobbin either not spinning at all or spinning very slowly, often resulting in knots forming around needle tip or in fabric?
Bobbin is Dirty and Jammed
Grease, lint, and dust can build up in the bobbin causing it to move slowly or become stuck.
- Remove bobbin to inspect if it is dirty
- Use a small brush to clean the bobbin and the parts around it
- Use a small brush to clean the bobbin and the parts around it
Bobbin is Bent or Broken
If a bobbin is constantly jammed this can cause the bobbin to bend over time and possibly break depending on what material its made out of. A bobbin that is the wrong recommended size for the machine can create this problem as well.
- Remove bobbin to inspect if damaged
- If bent or broken, replace with bobbin of correct size to see if machine runs properly
Bobbin Winder Belt is Damaged
The bobbin winder pulls thread over the spool of the bobbin and it turns due to a belt inside. This belt can become damaged over time
- Begin by following ( insert link to guide ) instructions for removing front cover off machine, allowing access to the mechanical components inside.
- Look inside the machine to see if the belt spinning the bobbin winder is on its gear track
- If it is on its gear track check to see if there is any cracks, tears, or looseness in the belt
- If belt is damaged follow ( Insert link to guide ) instructions for removing and replacing bobbin winder belt
