The Computer Will Not Power On
The computer will not turn on when you hold down the power key.
Battery Not Fully Charged
Make sure to fully attach your computer to the battery charger, then plug the charger into the wall. Leave the computer to charge for at least 30 minutes before removing the charger and attempting to power the computer on. If this does not work, refer to the other solutions below.
Faulty Power Adapter
If you have already attempted to plug the adapter into your computer and charge the battery with no success, you may have a faulty power adapter. One way to test this is by replacing the power adapter with a new one, otherwise you can find a device that uses the same power connector to test the adapter on. If your laptop is plugged in and will not power up or charge your battery, you most likely have a faulty power adapter.
If your laptop runs while plugged into the power adapter, but will not power up on just battery power alone, then it's possible you have a faulty battery. Replace the battery using this guide -
Display is Blank
No display image even though computer is running.
Plugged into Another Source
Check to make sure your laptop is not plugged into another device such as an external monitor or projector. If your device is plugged into an external source, the screen image will display on the external device rather than the laptop's screen. To solve this problem, disconnect your laptop for the external device.
Loose Screen Wire
Depending on the position of your screen, you may find that there is a loose wire causing a faulty connection to the motherboard. One way to test this is to move your screen from closed to completely folded out as far as it will go while turned on. If it is a matter of a loose wire, you may regain a screen image at some point during this process.
If the screen is cracked, the computer may not display an image. The only way to solve this problem, if the previous troubleshooting topics were not the problem, is to replace the screen. Replace the screen using this guide -
Audio sounds unclear or cracks while playing.
Audio Input Not Fully Inserted
Before you start to replace your speakers or headphone jack, you should first check to see if the device you have plugged into your computer has been fully inserted. If the device is not properly inserted then two things may happen. First, sound will continue playing through your computer speakers or intermittent sounds will come from your attached device. Second, check to make sure that the computer volume on mute since that can also cause a lack of audio from attached audio devices.
Speakers Are Blown
If you tend to play audio or music at high volumes for extended periods of time, the speakers themselves start to lose quality. You can test your external speakers by attaching them to another source and then the sound quality of the speakers from a different input can verify if the problem is in the speakers. If your speakers continue to have the poor sound quality then the speakers themselves are damaged and nothing is wrong with your computer.

Computer Turns Off During Use
While using your laptop it turns off without warning.
Battery Charge Depleted
If your laptop's battery runs out while you are using it, the laptop will shut down. Before using your laptop, ensure the battery is fully charged. When charging, make sure the adapter is fully inserted into the charging port and plugged into a functioning electrical outlet. Consequently, make sure in your computer settings that low battery notifications have been selected. This way your laptop will notify you before it shuts down due to low battery and allow you to save your work, or plug it into the power adaptor.
If the vent of your laptop is covered, the laptop cannot properly cool itself while you are using it. Make sure that the laptop's vent is free of obstruction while in use to prevent a shutdown caused by overheating. Another cause for this problem could be that there is an accumulation of dust inside the laptop's fan. If this is the case, use compressed air to clean out the device. If the laptop still shuts down after you have tried uncovering the vent and cleaning the device of dust, the laptop's fan may be broken and need to be replaced.
Software Update In Progress
If your laptop is in the process of updating, it may shut off unexpectedly to install the update. To prevent an unexpected shutdown caused by a system update, ensure update notifications are selected in your computer's menu. With update notifications, your computer will alert you when it needs to update, giving you time to save your work in preparation for the update or the option to postpone the update to a more convenient time.
Computer Running Slowly
Your computer is not running as fast as it used to.
If your laptop has a virus, proceed to backing up your files and downloading a
malware program. Scan your computer and leave detected threats in the quarantine. These files will be useful in the later to detect for analysis.
Too Many Open Processes
If there are too many open processes, check to see which programs are using a large amount of processing power in the Task Manager. Click the CPU tab to order the programs by how much processing power they are taking up. If there are any programs that are not being actively used, quit these processes.
If there is a failing RAM, test to see which memory module is defective. For each memory module that is damaged, ordered replacements. However, in the case that all of the modules are damaged, the computer may be experiencing a serious power surge. This can be fixed by contacting a power company and asking the employee to check for transformer connections in the area. Another cause of a failing RAM can be due to built up dirt and dust in your computer. It is a good idea to clean the computer with a can of compressed air at least once a year.
