I managed to revive it. If anyone in the future will look for the answer, here is it: Take your hot air station, a lot of flux (higher quality will be better) and reflow those two chips at around 320 - 350 Celsius degrees.
Maybe that’s a stupid question, but did you reassembled them correctly? If they are not turning on nor charging it may indicate that the battery is not connected to the logic board.
Model numbers will have a country code suffix, but the core model remains the same. For example, the CUH-ZCT2U (United States) and CUH-ZCT2J (Japan) controllers contain the same components.
Hi Marcus, It may not be the ODD problem. You can check with the original ODD but different HDD. Could you check if you are able to update the console firmware? I had a similar issue and that was caused by the hard drive.
Hi, It depends on the nature of the issue. If it was hardware (i.e. console motherboard failure) you can try transferring the whole hard drive to the new console. If it was a hard drive issue, it may be impossible to recover the data from it.
Hi, Do you want to replace just thumbsticks or whole joystick mechanism? If you need whole module, you can find it on aliexpress (link) sold in batches or in retail. Metal replacement parts are available there as well, but they are more expensive than normal ones. I`m not sure if there is an official source of OEM parts for XO S.
In what file system is the SD card formatted? It may be a problem with the card itself. If the card is working, you may need to replace the card reader component. It's not a big deal as you can see in this video :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Qrp-gqLcTg
