try using a paperclip with the tip bent. You can always dissemble the phone and push the sim tray out.

Try to loosen the screws on the plate a little, i did it on a hunch. Technicians like me often get the screws pretty snug instinctively. -JB

Also, the 4 GSM and the iPhone 4 verizon use different vibrators. the Verizon/CDMA version uses a button shaped vibrator, like in the 4s. iPhone 4 Verizon Vibrator Replacement iPhone 4 Vibrator Replacement make sure you buy the correct part, if you need to take that path.

This could be a bad part, or it's also possible that you bend the cable too sharply.

The older battery might have sticky adhesive stuck to the bottom.

Did you just replace the laser? or the whole drive? I had a similar problem, and had to replace the whole drive.

You should be able to get a repair shop to do this for around $40, they just have to be capable of micro soldering.

Try putting a piece of shrink wrap tubing or a rubber band over the screwhead first. Otherwise, use a dremmel or file to cut a slot in the head, and use a flathead screwdriver.
