You probably damaged the FFC (Front Facing Flex Cable). That cable controls the ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, front facing microphone and camera.
First, DISCONNECT the battery before ANY connections, and the battery should be the last thing you re-connect. And you DO NOT need to remove the logic board.
There is a light adhesive around the edges so applying some heat to the plastic cover first (I use a hot plate at 80*c for about 5 minutes) and some alcohol along the edges will really help.
If you get the replacement screen with daughterboard attached you don’t need to solder anything.

You should disconnect the battery before disconnecting any cables.

Don’t forget the screw on the right edge towards the top.
Do you really need to remove the battery? And, shouldn’t the battery be disconnected first before anything else?
Why not just remove the rear cover instead? Easy access and no chance of screwing up the screen, adding to your replacement costs?
