What do I do at iFixit?
I started at iFixit in the EDU department and mastered the way of guide creation. Then I moved into Outreach and Video as the host of our YouTube channel. Now I PM the design queue, develop creative here and there (thanks adobe spark), and manage all of our YouTube sponsorships and affiliates. I also wrangle creative assets for different departments. Need a photo or video clip? I can show you where to find them!
In short, I work with Elise and Mark to manage digital marketing content and schedules.
Before COVID-19, you’d typically see me and my dog, Pebbles, running around the office trying to steal food from my sister, Marina, working in the kitchen. :P
I guess you could call me an iFixit creative linchpin and treat bandit. Not much has changed since we went remote. I’m still trying to do all the things while eating all the snacks.
Holler if ya need me!
What Hogwarts house do I belong to?
"You might belong in Hufflepuff
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true,
And unafraid of toil"
—The Sorting Hat
Hufflepuffs also fair well in Herbology. Which is probably why my plant rehab center is doing so well. I rescue/repair succulents and bring them back to life. See my amateur plant photography on instagram @thekelseaweber
What makes me smile?
Teaching People Stuff
I was born to be a teacher! Prior to working at iFixit I worked in public schools as a teaching assistant for Math and Physics. I was the president of the Student California Teacher’s Association at Cal Poly and advocated for teacher’s rights along side the union. Which is why I love being an advocate for #RighttoRepair and working for iFixit. :)

Behold my fur baby, Pebbles!
Music
My mother was an amazing vocal coach and got me involved with theater, music, and dance starting when I was two. It's been a while since I've been on stage, but I take every opportunity to sing and enjoy live music. If you're eavesdropping on my convos in the office you'll probably hear me talking about what concert I'm going to next.
Awesome job Johanna ! :)
Thanks for your feedback! If you click Edit in the right top corner of any guide step, you can add warnings and edit guide text. It will initially get sent to our filters for review, but other community members with higher rep will approve them.
Yikes! It sounds like your battery might be overheating. Try opening up the tablet and check the condition of the battery. It will probably need to be replaced.
Good catch! This guide was made by combining a few other guides ( we call prerequisite guides) and they were combined in the wrong order. I went ahead and fixed it. Thanks for the feedback!
Okey okey, it looks like the user just wanted show what was inside. The guide had been archived, but feel free to contribute whatever information you might have to help it out. We’re all about working together here.
What information are you looking for?
No tool is needed to get the batteries out though. Not sure why the user who wrote the guide used it.
The opening tool used in this guide is from the iFixit store. Any plastic or nylon prying tool should work.
Hi Denise,
You posted your question as a comment on this guide, but it'll get more attention from our repair community in the Answers forum. Try posting your question at iFixit.com/answers.
Fingers crossed Amazon offers more parts in the future! :)
