Background and Identification
The AKG K52 are professional close-back over-ear budget headphones, released c. 2015, as the junior in the KX2 series, along with the AKG K72 and K92.
The AKG K52 are marketed as studio, monitoring and mixing headphones. However with an 18 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range and a warm V shaped tuning the headphones are not neutral, but more neutral than its siblings. The tuning is bass dominant with with set back mid frequencies. Even though the close-back design, the K52 still delivers in sound staging. The headphones are a low impedance design and easy to drive.
The headphones comes in black, has a metal frame with AKG's self-adjusting headband, and plastic ear cups. The K52 has a fixed 2.5 m cable, terminating to a 3.5 mm stereo plug.
