Frying my Galaxy Watch

Not long ago my mother gave me her old Galaxy Watch, which was pink and gold

Being a boy, I can't just be going out with literal jewlery just so I can tell the time

So I ordered a replacement housing, battery, and strap

It started fairly simple, removing 4 tri-wing screws on the bottom of the device

After opening it, I disconnected every cable in sight (making sure to disconnect the battery first @HughJeffreys)

I then pulled out the motherboard, old battery, and midframe

Here's where things went wrong

I tried removing the screen, in the end ripping out by the flex carpet, which caused lines all over the screen, only discovered after installing everything in the new black housing, closing everything up, and connecting the charger

I was devastated

I found a replacement screen, but it was way out of my budget, so I searched online "how to repair broken amoled screen" to no avail

Upon opening it again to make sure it wasn't a faulty connection, my brother smacked me in the face with a police costume, and my iFixit Jimmy slid right under the motherboard and cleanly and neatly SLICED the soldered-on buttons cable

So now, with the watch powered off before opening, and no buttons to restart the watch, I couldn't even turn it on, and the flex cable being 0.8mm wide, way too small for my poor soldering skills and iron tip

So it started with 7/10 ease, when I broke the screen it dropped to 4/10, and then my brother dropped it to 0/10

1. Don't pull out an AMOLED display by the flex cable/carpet

2. Research how to take apart a device before taking apart your own

3. Lock your door so your 5yr old brother doesn't smack you in the face with a police costume

4. Don't fully power off your device straight away because you may never be able to power it on again
