简介
There were many available guides to disassembling and repair Singer Sewing Machine Foot Pedals. Mine was a bit different as there were no screws on the bottom. I slightly broke the pedal trying to pry it open.
This guide shows you how to disassemble this style of foot pedal.

Is this guide applicable to your foot pedal?
-
Compare the pictures of the top, which is pretty common, and the bottom to see if they match.
-
Note: The bottom has no screws. They are not hiding under the little rubber feet. Do not remove the rubber feet as that will be a waste of time.
-
This particular pedal came from a Singer 6221C machine.

-
There are two white plastic pins that can bee seen from the left and right side of the pedal.
-
Your pedal will look different as the white pin will be completely surrounded. This shows my pedal that was damage when I tried to pry open the pedal. This guide aims to avoid this damage for you.

Insert a 3/32" drill bit, or similar, into the hole in the center of the pin. The drill bit is used because it has some cutting edge that dig into the plastic so you can pull it out.
-
While pushing down slightly on the drill bit, pull the drill bit out gently. You will also need to push down on the bottom housing of the pedal gently to reduce the friction of the pin in the hole.
-
This should require little force if you are pushing down on the bottom housing just right.
-
-
-
The extraction method for the plastic pin on the other side is identical.
-
-
-
Reassembly is easier as the pin can just be pushed in with your finger.
-
Look at the side of the pedal and line up the holes in the top housing and bottom housing. The pins will slide in easily.
-
Now you are ready to repair what is inside the pedal.
