Corrective action - replacement of Man/Spont-Auto switchover diaphragm located in valve plate of the breathing system.

Reason/Rational:
To enhance the reliability of the Man/Spont switchover valve.
Solution/Procedure:
Replacement of individual diaphragms of diaphragm assembly for Man/Spont-Auto switchover.
Notice: When fitting the diaphragm(s), pay special attention to the correct fitting position (see drawing). Secure the screw with Loctite 221.
Devices affected:
All units manufactured prior to December 2000. (serial numbers prior to ARPN-xxxx)
Timing/When:
During next repair or Preventative Maintenance Certification visit, but action must be completed by March 2003 .
Cost:
Parts will be supplied free of charge up to the completion date of March 2003.

Total: 25 minutes

- (2x for each breathing system) Man/Spont diaphragm. Diaphragms can be ordered free-of-charge through Customer Service.
Checking/Testing:
Functional test: Carry out power on test, check ventilation parameters according to section 4.18- Ventilation Modes, of the Safety and Function test.
