Background and Identification
The Sony HDR-AZ1 was released in September 2014. It is a rugged camcorder aimed at users who record in situations where other cameras would fall short. Users would be able to use it for skydiving, scuba diving, racing, bikes, snowboarding, and a number of other more rugged activities. It has Wi-Fi connectivity and several recording options/settings. In the box it can be found with a shockproof and waterproof housing, an adhesive mount, a micro USB cable, a rechargeable battery pack and a tripod adaptor. The housing is waterproof down to 16.4 feet, shockproof from 4.92 feet and has dirt and dust-resistant seals. The camcorder measures 0.95 x 1.42 x 2.91 inches and only weighs 2.22 ounces with its NP-BY1 battery pack.
