The Powermate Auger PEA438 is classified as an earth-grade auger that is meant for pulling soil from the ground. The auger was released in 2011 and has had many reproductions of the same model since its original release date.

This company only deals products in the United States, but you may be able to get your hands on this product through other websites such as Amazon or Ebay. The company gears this product towards land services and construction works but it can also be used by the everyday consumer as well. While Powermate does not sell their products through their main site they do work with retail stores such as Home Depot and Harbor Freight.

While there are not any known recalls there are many problems people have had issues with, such as the fuel tank cracking and the carburetor getting stuck. While looking over many reviews a lot of people had high praises while others had some concerning notes such as only being able to dig through soft ground instead of a more rock inhabited terrain.

This product has a very comparable design to most earth grade augers on the market. The design is meant for single man use and has two padded handles attached to the motor of the auger to allow for a higher grade of control. The small dimensions and decreased weight of the product allow for increased portability through small jobs and high-grade construction work. The product only comes in one color and design. The engine size and model number are clearly labeled on the side of the fuel tank.
