Background
The ROG Xbox Ally X is a handheld, portable gaming console developed by ASUS in partnership with Xbox. The device features a 7-inch display with fixed controllers on both sides, including dual thumbsticks, triggers, bumpers, rear grip buttons, menu buttons, and standard ABXY and D-pad controls.
The ROG Xbox Ally X runs Windows 11 on a 64-bit x86 architecture and is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme APU, based on Zen-class CPU cores and RDNA-based graphics. It includes Xbox-optimized software features, such as a full-screen, controller-friendly Xbox experience and deeper integration with Xbox services, while continuing to support standard PC gaming platforms.
Microsoft and ASUS revealed the ROG Xbox Ally X during the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2025, positioning it as an Xbox-focused evolution of the ROG Ally rather than a standalone Xbox console.
