Recharging A/C Refrigerant for 2016 Hyundai Elantraen
Background and Identification
The Hyundai Elantra (also called the Hyundai Avante in South Korea) is a compact car manufactured by Hyundai, a South Korean automaker, since 1990. The Elantra was initially called the Lantra in Australia and some European markets, but disagreements between Hyundai and other automakers with similarly named vehicles led to the adoption of the name “Elantra” in 2001.
The sixth-generation Elantra was introduced in 2015 in South Korea and released for sale in the North American market in 2016 for the 2017 model year. The 2017 model was released in two trim levels, SE and Limited, though a Value Edition and Sport version were released later. The 2015-2020 Elantra was redesigned to have a more conservative fastback appearance. It includes a roofline sloping from the windshield to the rear of the car, pentagonal head and tail lights, a hexagonal grille, and body panels that emphasize the car’s straight lines. The sixth-generation Elantra was sold under the compact class but classifies as a mid-size sedan according to the EPA.
An ECO Trim was introduced in 2017 that includes a 1.4-liter turbocharged DOHC Inline-4 128-horsepower Kappa engine and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that is designed to improve the efficiency of the vehicle. The SE trim level model includes a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter NU four-cylinder engine with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The Limited Edition trim level includes a power sunroof, touchscreen stereo, and heated seats. The Ultimate package (which builds on the Limited package) adds automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane keep assist, smart cruise control, and memory presets for mirrors and driver seat adjustments.
Hyundai vehicles can be identified by the Hyundai emblem, which depicts an italicized ‘H’ inside of a circle. Elantra models also include the Elantra emblem, which includes the word “Elantra” in capital letters.
