Disc doesn't seem to be turning in console.

Hi! Almost 100% sure that the disk isn't turning. I don't feel anything anything happening and its hard to see in the little window. nothing automatically loads when you close the door on the top with a cd in it. I should note that I currently dont own a game, was trying to test the system using several different audio cds but no luck. I do get the splash screen, and I've tried selecting all the icons and pressing all the buttons on the controller. Please help!
