Thank You very much mayer, do you think that the Intel Core 2 Duo is good enough or is there really a big difference between the i3, i5 and i7 and the Core 2 Duo? Should I really buy a new Macbook Pro or jsut upgrade the RAM and Hard Drive? Thank you for your opinion : D.

*Apple officially supports a maximum of 4 GB of RAM. Originally, this model was only unofficially capable of stably supporting 6 GB of RAM, but as confirmed by site sponsor OWC, it is capable of supporting 8 GB of RAM if updated to Boot ROM Version MB51.007D.B03 and running MacOS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" or higher.

  • Apple MacBook "Core 2 Duo" 2.4 13" (Unibody) Specs

The processor is integrated into the logic board and can't be switched out.

You're talking to a guy that was thrilled when I could upgrade a Mac from 1 MEG of RAM to 4. The answer to, "is the Core 2 Duo good enough" is tough. It's really according to what you do with your Mac. Your machine bookmarks at 3628. In a 13" machine, the late 2011 i7 benchmarks at 6967. A late 2011 15" MBP i7 benches at 10623. A MacBook 11" i7 Mid 2011 benches at 5718. My MacPro 2008 runs at 10362. So if you're a gamer, upgrade. If your just using the net and doing accounting your book is fine. If your just doing accounting the 1986 Mac + is fine ;-). Here's the benchmarks: http://browse.geekbench.ca/mac-benchmark...
