Dishwasher when plugged in immediately trips my fuse box
I have a Hisense dishwasher, I plug it in and it immediately trips the fuse box and the house is in darkness. Any tips? 😁

What is the model number of the dishwasher?
Do you have a DMM (digital mulimeter) and know how to use it?
If so, unplug the dishwasher from the power outlet and check if there a short circuit seen on the meter, when measuring between the active and neutral pins on the dishwasher's power cord plug.
If there is, open the dishwasher and disconnect the power cord where it connects in the dishwasher and then check if the power cord is OK and it isn't where the short circuit is i.e. faulty power cord
If the power cord is OK, knowing the model number will help to find out where the short circuit might be in the dishwasher.

I don't have a DMM but that is easily rectified, I will follow your advice and see what happens. Thank you
I decided to attempt the easiest fix first, replacing the power cord and then go from there if that didn't work. It did. Thank you for the advice and assistance. If that had failed I would have then gone away to get a DMM but I'm also keen to not buy I don't strictly need so that was good.
