So, I've been having this problem with my PS4 and still can't find out why. Basically, the disc spins, stops, spins, stops, and after a few more times it says "unrecognised disc". I've tried everything, I ve done the same mode things, I've taken the PS4 apart to clean it, I've taken the disc drive apart to see if I could find the problem, but nothing. I really dunno what to do. Btw, I have the European PS4 slim I think

Well, this basically sounds like that the laser died.
I recommend to replace the laser deck, instead of replacing the whole drive. It's cheaper and it should fix it immediately. Fortunately, it's not that difficult for the PS4 Slim!
The part you need: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/325680370... (be sure that you have the correct laser deck! Always open it up first to see which version of laser deck is in there! Usually it's the 496, but always check it out first!).
