For other's information:
The Nokia XS-250WX-A is a Nokia Optical Network Terminal (ONT).
- An ONT is an Optical Network Terminal which is a device that converts the fibre optical cable signal, that comes into your house, to a digital signal, that a Managed Network router can understand.
- It is still commonly called a "modem", as this was what the old ADSL phone line Internet connections were made on. ONT is the correct term. Good we have that out of the way. 😎
- LAN ports - This model has Four 1000Base -TX Ethernet ports (RJ-45) and one 10 G Base-T Ethernet interface as well as Wi-Fi. It also has old telephone POTS ports.
- The factory "Default Gateway" address of this router is 192.168.1.254.
Hi Carlos, What does ipconfig bring up for the default gateway when you run it from CMD? Perhaps try some of the more advanced switches for ipconfig?
If that does not work what about using a program like NetworkView or Slitheris Network Discovery - both have freeware modes for the basics. See what comes up. You network must be seeing the ONT somewhere.
"They" may have just changed the ip address of the ONT? So who is doing it Chorus or your ISP? Who sent the TP-link device?
Unfortunately I think your post
"Because when we first came out with Hyperfibre, modem/routers capable of supporting those speeds were few and far between, Chorus decided to supply an ONT with built in router capabilities. That service however is getting grandfathered and so the XS-250WX-A will just become a regular ONT like with any other Fibre connection.
The XS-250WX-A is a modem yes. It is the RGW or 'router' capabilities we are no longer supporting. This will be supplied and supported by your broadband provider of choice and so long as its setup correctly you will experience no loss in BANDWIDTH. CAT 6a is capable of 10 gigabits per second, far in excess of the 8 gigabits per second you get with a Hyperfibre plan.
Because RGW services are no longer required we are also turning off the remote management website and API's that allowed this functionality, which is in line with all our other ONT types. I believe THAT is the functionality I want back…"
answers your question. Serious hacking would be required.
Have you tested all your CAT cables? I have had serious problems with these in the past. The annoying thing is that that they can still "work" when badly connected but just NOT very well.
As far as I know 1Gbps ports can't communicate with 10 Gbps ports.

I suggest contacting your Internet provider's support.

@aactech they are not very interested in helping. Turns out they charge a fee to 'rent' the new modem. Which should be illegal if you ask me…
