My systems battery was discharging too fast and as a solution I decided to remove the battery and replaced it back after some minutes, but after replacing it, the message on the screen is that I don't have an operating system and should install one on my hard disk, media test failure, boot device not found

@perfectokeme this "media test failure, boot device not found" means your computer can't read/find your HDD. Go into your BIOS and check there to see if the HDD still shows.
It could be purely coincidental that it stopped working or there is something else that is going on with it. It should not relate to the battery having been removed. Your computer was turned off when you removed the battery, right?
For now, check the HP EliteBook 840 G4 Notebook PC Maintenance And Service Guide page 79 and on and see what shows up.
