How to remove a key stuck on ignition

Collings, does your car have an automatic transmission? If so, the gear selection lever must be fully in the Park position in order to remove the key from the ignition switch. Try moving the gearshift to a different position, then make sure it is securely positioned in Park, at which point the switch should allow you to turn it to the off position and remove the key.

If that doesn't work you may have to troubleshoot the mechanical connection between the gearshift and the ignition switch.
