No HDMI, No Sound, and Recovery Mode and PS2 Classics Black Screen

I have a PS3 slim that has many issues. I cannot get my PS3 to output to HDMI despite trying most of the common methods. It does work using component cables. Sound was working sporadically until it stopped a few days ago. When I try to attempt to enter recovery mode or play a PS2 Classic, I get nothing but a black screen. I am not sure if these issues are related to each other or if they are separate. It is a pre 2011 slim using firmware version 4.90 and it had PS3Hen but I removed it recently.

Gee this is a bit of a tough one.

We have two issues

HDMI isn't outputting. let's deal with this one first

So, what i'm guessing has happened is one of two things

a) Something on the board has gone kaput because it's old (HDMI redriver?)

b) Your physical port may be completely gone. I think this is more likely because it's only an issue on hdmi

Your PS3 refuses to boot into PS2 classic or recovery screen

Firstly, last i check, the ps3 slim doesn't boot into PS2 games because that requires a dedicated PS2 like what the original fat one had.

With regards to that recovery mode, i found this on the web for how to enter recovery. Try this for me if you don't mind:

Remove any disc and USB device and turn off your PS3.
Hold down the power button and wait for your PS3 to turn on and back off. Release the power button.
Hold the power button again until you hear a quick double beep. Release the power button.
Plug in your controller and press the PS button.

I hope this works. let me know if it doesn't
