Internal display not being recognised after battery replacement a1543

Hi there. I recently replaced the battery in my macbook a1543 & now the internal display doesn't work and is not recognised in the displays part of system settings. External works fine

Very strange considering I didn't disconnect or touch the screen during the battery repair process.

Any ideas on what's causing this or what will better allow me to debug the situation.

Current hypothesis is maybe the ribbon cable broke internally, but i know nothing lol

Thanks!

Does the device power on? Does it work with an external monitor? Does it show the light on the Caps Lock key? Have you tried an SMC or PRAM reset? It's hard to know exactly what happened here without looking at the device. I'd recommend carefully opening it up again and inspecting the internal connections, as well as the condition of the logic board. Good luck!

Thanks for the response :)

Yeah it powers on. Works perfectly with the external monitor. No degradation in performance .

I tried resetting SMC & PRAM but maybe did so incorrectly

All internal connections look fine and logic board looks normal (don't know how to inspect that for problems but looks as it did before)

Will open it up again this evening and have a look through it

Good evening young sir,

I would recommend checking some of the fuses surrounding the screen region. I'm no rocket scientist (nor professional computer technician), however if my screen just randomly died that's the first area i'd investigate.

When you were conducting the repair, did the connection accidentally bridge and cause a sudden power-up and loss? That is something very dangerous for these laptops.
