From that reference, it appears that the missing component on your board is an exact match for the two components just to the right.

I wish I could be more help but I'm getting conflicting information on what those components are, and I do not have a PS4 in the shop right now to test and check. I would highly recommend using a multimeter to identify and test the values of those components, and ordering a replacement from somewhere such as DigiKey or Mouser.

@tyler58246 Okay. So since it seems you don't know much about these things, here's some more info to help you find the right part:

These things are measured by their size. You'll need a precise caliper to measure their size. Typical measurements is something like 0603 / 0201, where "0603" is metric (0.6mm x 0.3mm) and "0201" is imperial (0.02in x 0.01in). https://forum.digikey.com/t/standard-pac...

Reference that chart and check for both sizes, because even if you're in a country that measures in metric, the manufacturer may advertise in imperial, or vice versa.

Once you've identified it (it looks like a capacitor to me, but sometimes resistors, fuses, and diodes look very similar so verify), and measured it's values, search those. DigiKey's search feature is easier to use, but Mouser's is a bit more powerful. Other options to check are AVNet, Newark, or Octopart. Though there are more that may be better if you are in a country other than the US, I can't speak for that.

You are absolutely right that it is a broken off connection of some kind.

The most basic answer is this:

If Sony spend the money to put that resistor in their console, then it serves a purpose. It may not be integral to operation, but it may be a safety check, or other application that could not prevent the console from working but otherwise cause moderate performance problems if missing, or potential catastrophic failure in certain situations.

For example, since it is next to an antenna, it may be that without that component you cannot pick up all the signals you were originally supposed to pick up, or it may be that if there's a slight power surge it could fry your wifi chip and you'll never be able to get a wireless signal again.

Can you please provide the exact board number so that I can see if I can find schematics? (For example, NVG-003 is one of the motherboard models in a PS4 Pro released to the US market.)
