Google Pixel 6 screen issue after replacement

Hello everyone,

A few days ago I ordered a new screen here for my Google Pixel 6 because my current screen got some cracks in it. After replacing the old screen with the new one from iFixit, the screen turns green in the corner at low brightness and it flickers/ it is adjusting its brightness (without the phone doing it by itself). I opened the phone up to check if I made a mistake during the installation process and even reinstalled my old screen, and my old screen does not have this problem. I even tried factory resetting my device and calibrating it again via the link in the repair guide, but all these steps do not fix the screen problem. Does somebody have an idea what the problem can be? I think I might have gotten a bad copy or am I missing something?

Best regards, Jeroen

Hi Jeroen,

It doesn't look like you've missed anything; from what I've seen over the last year it appears that Google has a slight problem with quality control on their replacement screens. So yeah, I'd say it's probably a defect in the replacement screen, but fortunately iFixit has an excellent customer service department and a lifetime warranty on their replacements.

I'd say your next step should be to get in touch with them and let them know what's going on with your new screen; you can email them at support@ifixit.com. They should get you squared away shortly.

Sorry that happened, but I can't really fault iFixit for quality control issues on Google's part.

Good luck; let us know what happens!
