good fan replacement option - sold item is not fitting

@florib5 did you notify iFixit of this? Did you receive the right fan? Which one did you buy? Somehow you either got the wrong fan or your xbox is a different variant. Let us know on those pictures which one fits

Yes i notified iFixit and will wait for their reply. I bought the one mentioned in the link, it says Xbox Series S, and on the receipt the same. I'm quite sure there is only one Xbox S variant :). Upon searching other sites, it seems all the replacement parts currently available are the same, meaning they were designed for Xbox One S which is not totally the same fit.

I ended up cutting out one of the part (the one in the circle in my picture) and managed to make it work like this. I am quite sure that anything else that i would receive from iFixit would be the same model. They should mention something on their site.

I believe the pics that I have posted are telling enough, you can see from the non straight red line that one of the foot is not aligned with the original one and would go in the hole made for that purpose in the heat sink.

@florib " Xbox One S " yes, that is the other variant I was referring to. I was just going to confirm this through the other images. You are right, definitely not needed. Hope it all works out for you. Happy Gaming.

Thank you for the reply. Xbox One is not a variant it's a different older model with a different size and shape. It's not a variant of a Xbox Series S. There's only one type of Series S, as such an item sold for it should be able to fit without the need of a saw. I appreciate your help, just want to clarify for other people who might encore that issue.
