Trac pad connector MacBook Air connector for new cable popped off

small black flip up and down cable connector which locks cable in place (plastic) broken . I am replacing cable can I tape in place in lieu of trying to get the connector to work?

Thanks in advance, Rich

This is the small plastic clip that secures the cable on each end

Sorry had a problem with the photo. As you can see the fastener is tiny and was wondering if I could buy another or tape the cable in place. Thanks!

@poohbeard you can try but most likely it will not provide enough force to maintain the contact. You can try and repair your connector (depends how broke, broke is) or you may have to solder a new connector on. Post some pictures of the damage with your QUESTION so we can see what you see 在已经存在的问题里加入图片

Here's the trackpad connector Trackpad Flex Connector I would order a few just in case!

You might be able to carefully unsnap the latch hinge pins on each side by carefully bowing the latch piece. Then you can do the same with the part to then snap into the logic board connector. If you've damaged the lower part of the connector you'll need to desolder the old one and then solder on the new one.

This is a bit tricky! So unless you've soldered logic boards before its best to let someone with the deeper skills do it for you.

Thanks for the link I think I can do as you suggested as the lower part is not damaged. My old eyes need some help with these small pieces :) Really amazing how fragile all these parts are. Thanks, Rich
