Hi,
If the fan is not operating, use a DMM to check if 12V DC is being supplied to the fan or alternatively use an Ohmmeter to measure the fan motor resistance to make sure that the fan winding is OK.
Here's the service manual for the player. This will help you to replace the fan if it is faulty. See Step.15 on section/page 3-4 (page #113/123 pdf numbering).
Replacement fans are available online. Search for 3103-001251 to get results for suppliers that suit you best.
