My MacBook Pro doesn't turn on when the battery is plugged in.

I’ve been having an issue with a laptop where the laptop wasn't booting up. I unplugged the battery and plugged in the charger alone and it started right up without me hitting the power button. If the battery is plugged into the laptop it will not boot up even if the laptop is plugged in. The battery does seem to be receiving a charge.

Let’s get a better view of things, install this gem of an app! CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window and post it here for us to see 在已经存在的问题里加入图片

It sounds like the power switch, which connects through the keyboard connector, isn't working. It will start up without using the power switch when no battery is present. That's what we're seeing here.

@ffixitwell - I doubt the issue is the power switch given what the OP stated. Lets see what CoconutBattery shows us. I'm thinking the battery is worn-out.

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the delay in getting back. I finally found some time to tinker with the laptop a bit to see if any of the suggestions worked. I got the MacBook to turn on but the keyboard was unresponsive. I reseated all the cables and plugs on the board including the battery without plugging the charger back in and it seem to just kick on. I gave the laptop to a friend and told them to report back to me if anything went wrong in general with the machine. It's been about 2 days since then and I haven't heard any issues regarding the machine. Thanks to everyone trying to help with my question. This was my first real repair so I was uncertain on how to phrase the question when I asked. Thank you all once again.
