Volume isn't working right

My volume keys are not working properly. I have to hold them down for a very long time before it works. Then it is hard to control it because once it starts to work it goes up or down really fast. It started doing this about 3 or 4 weeks ago. Please can someone help me? I have a Samsung Galaxy A21 phone
