I tried following the battery removal guide, but after sliding the battery latch till the red part is visible, I can't slide the battery out. I've used a credit card to slightly pry the bottom part thinking that it was a friction problem, but it still doesn't come out. What can be done about it?

Chideria Ehirim download the service manual for your computer from here Page 46 has the instructions (just like you did) Make sure that the latch is slid right to the end. You should get the battery to slide out first. You may need a little extra force so try a small screwdriver between the case and the back (not the bottom) of the battery. It has to slide out first before you can lift it out.

I wonder if the locks move when you move the latch. Do you feel any resistance?
