Was working when I put it in a drawer, pulled it back out after maybe a year and it just won’t power on or give an led indicator it is connected to power.
Tried the cord I had been using in the past to charge it and nothing, cord is fine.
This was a replacement phone I had used for less than a year, it was stored with the battery installed, no leaks, water damage or drops and has lived in a otterbox since day 1.
Wasn’t rooted or custom firmware either.

The inoffical thing to do is to change your battery. It has discharged below its charge threshold and will no longer hold a charge. After that, re-evalaute.

Issue is it won’t power on even without the battery installed.
I cannot recall if I’ve had it powered on in the past without a battery, so I will ask.
wouldn’t it power on while connected to the charger or other power source without the battery?
John Redkurn in theory yes in practice it may prevent your phone from coming on if it shortens out or is reported as follows. Again it is part of tge troubleshooting as well.
