MacBook won't recognize charger. Logic board?

Hi everyone,

Hoping for some guidance. I have a 2015 Macbook Pro 15 inch that was working fine. All of a sudden yesterday the machine powered off suddenly, when it rebooted the fans were running super high (loud) which was unusual. It booted back up and afterward I noticed the charger light on the magsafe 2 wasn’t lit at all. I was about to sleep and thought maybe the charger came unplugged or died.

Next day I started the machine up and noticed the battery indicator wasnt showing in the Mac menu bar, light still not showing. I check all settings and they were correctly set to show battery but it wasn’t. I tried to reboot into Win10 (Bootcamp) but it hung on Windows loading screen. (Was going to check battery indicator there)

I rebooted and tried to go into diagnostics but it said battery couldn’t be detected. I rebooted the machine again, got to iOS, still no battery then the laptop shut off and showed the plug in charger screen (battery is dead)

I followed all guidance on this post (Battery not detected, won't charge; strange connector on logic board?) including disconnecting battery, resetting SMC etc and nothing worked, still won’t recognize the charger. I purchased a brand new charger so I know it’s not the magsafe.

I can still power it up but it goes to the screen showing dead battery. I disconnected the battery from the motherboard and connected the charger and still won’t recognize it.

Based on this, is it safe to assume its a dead logic board or something? Obviously an assumption but just wanted to get thoughts. Wondering if its worth repairing or if it’s likely going to be cost prohibitive and should just look to potentially replace.
