My screen is black
When I turned on my PC for the first time in a while, my standard login page was not on. It had me log in to Microsoft Account instead. After I did that, the screen went black. I attempted multiple times to restart but the screen is now just black. Do you know how to fix this? Is there a way to do a hard reset on the computer?
Heather Broman start by connecting an external monitor and see if that shows you anything. Since you had issues with the startup it is possible that this is related to your computer not finding its OS due to failed HDD. Some HP's just have a black screen when that happens.
